TMZ made waves when they released an audio clip with Donald Sterling making racist remarks in a conversation with his then girlfriend/mistress V. Stiviano about posting a picture with Magic Johnson on her Instagram account.
As a result there was much backlash from current and former NBA players including entrepreneurs and business moguls Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson.

Donald Sterling (given name Don Tokowitz) is one of the longest-tenured NBA Owners and a sole owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. Among his background, Sterling was an attorney, real estate developer and entrepreneur. Born in Chicago and raised in the Boyle Heights section of Los Angeles, he graduated cum laude from law school at Southwestern Law School and received his Bachelor of Arts / Science from California State Los Angeles. The eventual self-made billionaire began his career as a lawyer and then turned to investments, sports and entertainment in Southern California. He became owner of the Clippers' in 1981 and relocated the team from San Diego to his hometown and eventually moving to the STAPLES Center years later. Sterling is the managing partner of a law firm and Chairman of Sterling Properties. He and his family reside in Beverly Hills and Malibu. Forbes estimates his net worth at $1.9 Billion made mostly through real estate investments.
