Goals for 2022: 12 Entrepreneurs Share Personal Goals

What is one goal you have for your business in 2022?

To help you with goal planning for the new year, we asked experienced entrepreneurs and small business owners this question for their best insights. From focusing on dual-sided marketing metrics to addressing each stage of the sales funnel, there are several goals entrepreneurs are striving for in 2022 that may help you set goals for your business.

Here are 12 personal goals from entrepreneurs in 2022:

Dual-sided Marketplace Metrics

Terkel is a dual-sided marketplace that involves questions from publishers, and answers from business leaders. Our goals for 2022 are laser focused on growing both sides of the marketplace to maintain a balance and provide exponential value to companies on both sides of the equation. Specific goals are to get to 30,000 users and 2,500 publishers by the end of 2022. Having those metrics and goals in mind helps make everything else – tactics, strategy, funding, people – more clear.

Brett Farmiloe, Terkel

Improve Work-life Balance

I’d like to see everyone who works for me have a more positive work-life balance in 2022, perhaps starting with scheduling flexibility. In general, employee dissatisfaction with their work-life balance is one of the main causes of high turnover in so many industries. We don’t want to lose people for that reason, so I want our staff to be as happy and as satisfied as they can be.

Henry Babichenko, European Denture Center

Increase Online Presence

We want to have an even greater impact in 2022, which is why we’re going to focus on increasing our online presence and building out our network. There are a lot of people who still don’t know how to get affordable life insurance as marijuana users. By increasing our online presence and looking for networking opportunities, we’ll make ourselves better known and can potentially reach even more people who are in need of our services.

Chris Abrams, Marcan Insurance

Capitalize On the Increase in Tourism

In 2022, our goal is to capitalize on an increase in tourism and remain a leader in our field. The travel industry is still recovering from the effects and restrictions of the pandemic, but the RV sector has been protected from some of the worst of it. We expect even more people to take advantage of the unique advantages of RV travel and rent from us.

Randall Smalley, Cruise America

Expand Marketing Efforts

We’re going to look into expanding our marketing efforts in 2022. The past couple of years have been a wild ride, but we’re coming out with our heads above water. The goal going forward is to capitalize on our position by making ourselves and our services even better known. By playing up our strengths and partnerships, we’re confident we can meet our marketing goals for the coming year.

Blake Murphey, American Pipeline Solutions

Grow Social Media Presence

We really want to continue to grow our social media presence in 2022. It’s really one of the most cost-effective, impactful marketing tools out there. While we already do a lot on social media and have tens of thousands of followers, we can always do more. Those followers and their likes can be turned into conversions, so the bigger our presence, the more we can grow.

Vanessa Molica, The Lash Professional

Earn Trust from Clients

I want to earn the trust of more clients because I believe in our products. What we have to offer in terms of information security products cannot be matched elsewhere, so I really want to grow our market share. Awareness about cybersecurity has grown in recent years, so it’s prime time to focus on highlighting what we can do for clients that others can’t. We can help continue this trend, so that’s where our efforts will be focused.

Nick Santora, Curricula

Increase Company's Profitability

One business goal I am looking for in 2022 is to increase my company's total income by 10% over the next year. To do this, we will reduce production and other expenses by 5% while increasing profitability from 10%. In addition, overall brand awareness must also improve so that my organization can take on more market share for me to achieve success as planned.

Saskia Ketz, Mojomox

Protect Children from Harmful Content On the Internet

One goal we have for our business in 2022 is to protect more children from harmful content on the Internet. I founded this company when my daughter was searching for princesses on the internet and came up with harmful content. I decided that there must be a better way to give your children the joys of the internet while protecting them from harmful content. I developed an internet router with parental controls that filters out bad content on the internet so that children can safely surf the internet without running into harmful content. It is our goal as a company to help as many children safely utilize the internet and for parents to feel confident that their children are protected. This is our business goal for 2022.

Create a New Fan-favorite

We want to create a new fan-favorite flavor. We recently brought back Blackberry-Vanilla for the holidays due to popular demand, so our goal is to create a new flavor that has our customers asking for more. Once we create this flavor we're going to employ a popular social media marketing strategy: advertise on Instagram. We love our social media followers and how engaged they are. We're able to easily answer any customer question that arises, directly on the platform, as well as share promotions, giveaways, and more. By advertising this new flavor on Instagram, we'll not only increase our brand awareness but improve our customer loyalty as well.

Melanie Bedwell, Olipop

Increased Conversion Rates

We have devoted ourselves to digital marketing and increasing online visibility for the past year. We will be more proactive in that endeavor next year and hopefully witness a significant rise in conversion rates and consequently an increase in our sales.

Kathryn McDavid, Editor's Pick

Address Every Stage of the Sales Funnel

We've always been great at attracting bottom-funnel (purchase-ready) leads. However, in 2022 we're implementing top and middle-funnel campaigns so that those in the Awareness and Consideration phases are getting the content they need during those stages. It's going to take time to get it right and there will certainly be tweaks made along the way. However, once it gains some steam we'll be able to rely on a more steady flow of leads and be able to lower our customer acquisition costs.

Dave Rietsema, Matchr
