What Quotations Motivate You? – Part 2

It’s just one of those days.  We all have them, but today it seems like everything is going wrong.  It’s pouring down rain and you forget your umbrella. You’re late for a meeting so you hop in your car and try to rush to get there.  Unfortunately, you get pulled over by a cop for speeding.  One of your major suppliers leaves because he has found a better price and a more convenient alternative.

Now you understand the saying, when it rains, it pours.

Q: ENTREPRENEURS! WHAT QUOTATION(S) MOTIVATE YOU?

Be fit for more than the thing you are now doing. Let everyone know that you have a reserve in yourself; that you have more power than you are now using. If you are not too large for the place you occupy, you are too small for it. – James A. Garfield

I am going to be a storm, a flame. I need to fight whole armies alone. I have ten hearts; I have a hundred arms. I feel too strong to war with mortals. BRING ME GIANTS! – Cyrano De Bergerac

The difference between a successful man and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in lack of will because the character rather than the education is man's greatest need and man's greatest safeguard because the character is higher than the intellect. The difference between men is in energy, in the strong will, in a singleness of purpose and an invincible determination. But the great difference is in sacrifice, in self-denial, in love and loyalty, in fearlessness and in humility, in the pursuit of excellence and in the perfectly disciplined will, because this is not only the difference between men, this is the difference between great men and little men. – Vince Lombardi

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi

We all have bad days and it’s easy to take it out on others, but instead of doing that I keep this quote in the back of my head knowing if I put on that smile and think positive that it will make a difference to the people’s worlds I am affecting. After all, a smile makes me feel better and is also “contagious”. A smile is a change I can start.
